TAMPA, Fla. — Now that Christmas is over, families are packing up the ornaments and tossing out the wrapping paper scraps — but, what about the Christmas tree?
For Tampa residents, curbside tree pickup starts next week.
Residents can receive free Christmas tree collection on their usual trash pickup day starting Tuesday, Jan. 2, and running through Wednesday, Jan. 31.
However, there are a few rules to follow to make sure your tree doesn't get left on the curb:
- Remove all lights and decorations
- Ideally, cut tree limbs to four-foot-long pieces
- Bundle the tree and place it curbside
Anyone with questions regarding Christmas tree pickup can contact the city's utilities call center at (913) 274-8811 or visit Tampa.gov/solidwaste.
