TAMPA, Fla. — A crash on I-75 killed a 71-year-old man from Bradenton who, according to Florida troopers, rear-ended a Ford truck which was towing a trailer at the time.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened Friday, shortly after 7:30 p.m., just north of the Selmon Expressway (SR-618), near Regency Square in Brandon.
According to the report, the Ford truck was driven by a 56-year-old man from Spring Hill, and neither he nor his passenger were hurt in the crash. The man who rear-ended the car died from his injuries at the scene.
The crash closed parts of I-75 for over 6 hours.
