TAMPA, Fla. — Ramps at the Courtney Campbell Causeway Boat Ramp are reopened after a boating accident left one person dead Saturday evening.
Tampa police said the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. on the Tampa side of the causeway.
At 8 p.m., only one ramp remains open to allow boaters to exit the water. The ramp was closed for launching.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), one person was hospitalized and another was declared dead as a result of the incident.
No other vessels were involved.
FWC is leading the investigation and will provide more information as it is available.
