TAMPA, Fla. — A bicyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a crash Saturday night, Tampa police said.
The crash happened just after 9 p.m. on South Dale Mabry Highway between Ballast Point Boulevard and Pearl Avenue.
Police shut down the road to traffic for several hours before opening it again early Sunday morning. It's not yet known what led up to the crash.
The bicyclist was said to be in critical condition at the hospital.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the Tampa Police Department.
