TAMPA, Fla. — The highly anticipated Beats on the Street festival returned for its second year, bringing an unforgettable musical experience to Water Street Tampa on Saturday, September 28 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This free community event lit up the district with over 20 dynamic performances spanning genres from indie rock to soulful jazz.

Seven stages featured a range of local and national acts, including crowd favorites like The Wandering Hours and Mercy McCoy. This year’s headliner, Tank and the Bangas—a three-time Grammy nominee and winner of NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest—closed out the event with a can’t-miss performance on the Water Street Main Stage.

Beats on the Street is a full sensory experience. Professional dancers roamed the streets, adding a touch of spontaneous fun, while immersive pop-up exhibits include a funk-filled Silent Disco, a Merch Zone for music lovers to snag exclusive items, and live performances from Girls Rock St. Pete.

Music-themed visuals and art installations were spread across the district.

With Water Street’s restaurants participating, guests enjoyed dining while listening to the festival’s electrifying sounds. Pop-up bars were available, with proceeds benefiting the Recycled Tunes Program, which supports music education for underprivileged students.

Some of the festival’s set highlights included:
    •    J.T. Brown and Co.
    •    Dueling Pianos
    •    The Wandering Hours
    •    Mercy McCoy
    •    Tank and the Bangas

"Beats on the Street is about bringing our community together to celebrate local talent and enjoy the vibrant culture of Tampa," said Morgan Elliott, event representative. "It’s the perfect way to transition into fall with great music, food, and fun for all ages."

Beats on the Street 2024 is a night filled with music, art, and community.
