TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa continues to be a hotspot for new housing construction so it's little surprise a luxury condo tower is being built close to downtown and St. Petersburg.
AQUA is under construction along the waterfront of Old Tampa Bay, just south of Gandy Boulevard. It'll be part of the Westshore Yacht Club and is said to be the final piece of the Bay area's "premiere yacht club community," according to a release from real estate company Smith & Associates.
The release explains the luxury condo tower will have 77 waterfront residences. Each condo will be equipped with "expansive terraces, designer-curated finishes, chef-inspired kitchens, and direct elevator access to private foyers for privacy and security."
This is just the first tower; AQUA is designed to ultimately have three 15-story towers for a total of 230 luxury condos, the website said. It's unclear right now when the first tower's construction will be completed.
While the builder Coastal Construction has already begun construction, the official groundbreaking is scheduled for May 9 with guests including Mayor Jane Castor, local officials and current Westshore Yacht Club residents.
The new luxury condo tower will be located in the Westshore Yacht Club's gated community, allowing future residents to "enjoy the yacht club's relaxed coastal lifestyle while having easy access to downtown Tampa and downtown St. Petersburg."
The community also reportedly boasts large sidewalks, a waterfront boardwalk and a full-service deep-water marina.
