TAMPA, Fla. — Four people were arrested early Sunday morning after police say a fight led to shots being fired.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the SoHo area, near the corner of S. Howard Ave. and De Leon St. Officers with the Tampa Police Department (TPD) were responding to a fight when they heard shots fired nearby.
Officers learned that the incident started with a fight between several adults in a parking lot.
On scene, one subject told police he had been punched and that his friend had also been hit by several people. He admitted to firing shots during the altercation.
No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, but police say a nearby building was struck.
TPD arrested four individuals on the following charges:
Tomia Gay: Battery
Santrice West: Battery, Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility
Derrick Hunter, Jr.: Battery
Kelvin Terry: Shooting At Within or Into A Building, Discharge Firearm into Public or Residential Property
