TAMPA, Fla. — A toddler is seriously hurt after she fell from the fourth floor of an apartment building Sunday afternoon in Tampa, officials said.
At around 4:40 p.m., authorities arrived at the Mosaic Westshore Apartment on West Kennedy Boulevard after receiving a report of a 3-year-old girl who fell from the fourth floor, the Tampa Police Department said in an updated news release.
The toddler reportedly fell from an open window in the bedroom of an apartment. She was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition, police said.
"Our thoughts remain with the child and their family in the hopes of a full recovery," TPD said in a statement.
Authorities say the incident appears to be accidental and no criminal charges are pending.
The investigation of the incident remains ongoing.
