RUSKIN, Fla. — A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in a Ruskin neighborhood Saturday evening, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) says.
Deputies responded to Seminole Sky Dr. in the Bahia Lakes neighborhood around 4:37 p.m.
Once on scene, deputies found the victim with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
HCSO says the shot was fired by a 15-year-old boy who told deputies he is an acquaintance of the victim. He is cooperating with the investigation.
The events leading up to the shooting are still being investigated.
