HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Two drivers that collided were killed in a crash in Hernando County early Saturday morning.
A 45-year-old man was driving a Volkswagen Jetta southbound in the northbound lanes at 12:40 a.m. on State Road 589 when he collided head-on with a 47-year-old woman driving a Honda Odyssey just north of County Line Road.
The two cars flipped over and both the drivers suffered fatal injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol officials.
The two passengers traveling in the Honda Odyssey, a 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.
