SPRING HILL, Fla. — Editor's note: The above image is not directly related to this story but shows damage from Hurricane Milton in Pasco County, where the woman was found.
A woman who was reported missing out of Hernando County during Hurricane Milton was found submerged in a body of water in Pasco County after the storm.
Moira Bossard, 80, was last seen on Oct. 8 walking into a hurricane shelter in Spring Hill, but shelter staff have no record of her checking in. Prior to driving to the shelter, neighbors described her as "confused" and said she left once and then returned home because she was lost, according to a news release from Hernando deputies.
She also told neighbors she was going to drive to Tennessee to be with family but deputies said she did not go.
Deputies said she was found on Sunday inside her vehicle which was submerged in water.
Mandatory evacuations were issued for all areas west of US 19, which included zones A, B and C ahead of the storm. The county reported historic flooding near and along the Withlacoochee River.
