Hernando County Fire Rescue said it will relocate firefighters and emergency personnel until repairs are made to station No. 4.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Hernando County Fire Rescue station is temporarily closed due to concerns about mold.

The station located at 5083 Mariner Blvd in Spring Hill.

Hernando County Fire Rescue said it will relocate firefighters and emergency personnel until repairs are made. Fire Rescue did not say when the station No. 4 would reopen.

“HCFR is taking every precaution to ensure that all systems are in place to continue to provide the highest level of emergency services to our citizens,” Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post. “The community should rest assured that response and service delivery will not suffer as a result of this action.”

Fire Rescue had Air Quality Environmental, Inc. run a series of tests at the station. The tests found mold.

Hernando County has 13 other fire stations, according to the county's website.

Fire Chief Kevin Carroll and Division Chief Jim Billotte will speak with media members at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
