HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — The Hernando County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged a man for the second time this year after identifying two more victims in connection to an ongoing child pornography possession investigation.
On Monday, Cameron Michael Szada-Daubert was arrested at his home off of Moale Road in Brooksville. He has been booked into Hernando County Detention Center where officials say he faces multiple charges of showing obscene material to a minor, soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services or devices and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
The investigation dates back to March 2023 when detectives from the sheriff's office received information regarding the possession of child pornography.
At the time, detectives authored a search warrant for Szada-Daubert's online accounts. After reviewing them, they reportedly found four files of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Then in July 2023, detectives responded to Szada-Daubert's house to speak to him. However, the agency said that he was "uncooperative with the investigation" and no arrest was made.
During further investigation, officials reportedly found that Szada-Daubert created two online identities which he would use to send and receive "nude images and videos of juveniles."
"Investigators identified 13 accounts where Szada-Daubert was believed to be communicating with juveniles," the agency said. "Out of the 13 accounts, investigators were able to identify the owners of seven of the online accounts. Out of the seven who were identified, five were juvenile victims. Only three of the five victims agreed to assist law enforcement with its investigation."
Szada-Daubert was arrested on May 17 of this year after he turned himself in at the Hernando County Detention Center. He was charged on multiple counts of possession of child pornography, showing obscene material to a minor, soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services and unlawful use of a two-way device.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office website, he was released in June before being arrested again on Monday as two additional victims were identified.
The sheriff's office says it is continuing to investigate.
