SPRING HILL, Fla. — A jewelry store in Hernando County was busted last week for selling drugs inside the business, the sheriff's office announced on Tuesday.
The Hernando County Vice and Narcotics Unit launched an investigation into Three J Jewelers off of Deltona Boulevard in Spring Hill several months ago, according to a press release. Detectives did not say what prompted their investigation.
On Friday, law enforcement executed a search warrant for the business, where investigators say they found "cocaine and crack cocaine."
The sheriff's office is now accusing the owner of Three J Jewelers, identified as 54-year-old Pedro Martinez, of selling "trafficking amounts" of cocaine.
Martinez was arrested and taken to the Hernando County Detention Center, where he's being held on a $275,000 bond. Deputies are pursuing the following charges:
- Trafficking in Cocaine (1 count)
- Sale of Cocaine (4 counts)
- Possession of a Structure with the Intent to Sell a Controlled Substance (4 counts)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (4 counts)
- Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device (4 counts)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (4 counts)
