HERNANDO BEACH, Fla. — A driver was resuscitated but hospitalized with critical injuries after their car rolled into a canal on Shoal Line Boulevard in Hernando Beach.
The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. Saturday, Hernando County Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post. Firefighters immediately entered the water and were able to rescue the driver and bring them to shore, according to officials.
CPR was performed at the scene of the crash, and on the way to the hospital, the driver regained a pulse, Fire Rescue said. But, firefighters said they remain in critical condition and "are undergoing additional procedures at the hospital."
