HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — A 53-year-old Hudson man is dead, and a Largo woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Hernando County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the crash happened around 2:35 p.m. at the intersection of East Avenue and Fort Dade Avenue.
Authorities said the driver of a Dodge Journey failed to stop as it was going north on East Avenue and entered the path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was going east on Fort Dade Avenue.
The 44-year-old driver of the Dodge and his passengers, a 61-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. His passenger, a 40-year-old woman, was also sent to the hospital with serious injuries.
