Driver crashes into Spring Hill home, fire rescue says

No one inside the home was hurt; the driver was taken to the hospital.

SPRING HILL, Fla. — A driver was hospitalized after deputies said they crashed into a home in Spring Hill.

The crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. Monday on Newhope Road, not far from Holiday Drive and Concord Avenue. Photos shared by the Hernando County Fire Rescue Department show the car had rammed through the front door of the one-story home.

Debris was pushed into the front inside of the home and part of the home's front wall had crumbled.

No one inside the home was hurt, authorities said. However, the driver was taken to the hospital; the sheriff's office did not say what the extent of the driver's injuries were.

Fire rescue officials said the Hernando County Building Department is checking out the home to ensure it's structurally sound before the people living there can go back inside.
