'Resolved peacefully': Barricaded person incident ends in Hernando County

SPRING HILL, Fla. — The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded to a "barricaded person" incident that impacted traffic Wednesday morning in Spring Hill.

Traffic was blocked off to vehicles and pedestrians on Lema Drive between Portsmouth and Riddle, according to the sheriff's office. Traffic was also blocked off on Riddle Drive between Linden and Lema. The sheriff's office has since said that the situation was resolved "peacefully" and the person involved is now in custody.

The sheriff's office did not provide details on what led up to the incident. However, a photo shared to the agency's Facebook page showed a large law enforcement response with several different units on the scene.
