Hernando County, Florida -- Hernando County detectives have been working with Pasco County detectives since late Thursday afternoon regarding a tip received concerning a possible homicide.
The tipster was able to provide a location and a possible suspect but did not know the identity of the victim. Crime scenes have since then been located and are being processed.
Detectives located the alleged suspect leaving the area of Talisman Estates. The suspect was identified as Daniel Burnette who was taken into custody and questioned by detectives. He provided a detailed account of the murder and also provided several items of evidence.
Based on evidence and his confession Burnette has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder with a Firearm. He is being held on a no bond status.
