Graffiti artist arrested for 'tagging' mural

St. Pete Police say they have arrested the man who tagged a professionally-painted wall mural in the city.
The mural was damaged by the suspect "tagging" the mural on several spots with a signature "HTWOO The Artist" (H2O) with permanent marker.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police say they have arrested the man who tagged a professionally-painted wall mural in the city.

In the early morning hours of Dec. 18, 2014, an outdoor professionally-painted wall mural was vandalized at the building located at #8 6th Street South. The mural was damaged by the suspect "tagging" the mural on several spots with a signature "HTWOO The Artist" (H2O) with permanent marker.

On Wednesday, detectives charged Jonathan Corbett, 24, with felony criminal mischief in the case.

At the time of his arrest, Corbett was already incarcerated at the Pinellas County Jail for Violation of Probation re. Grand Theft and Dealing in Stolen Property. Additionally, he was charged with three misdemeanor counts for Criminal Mischief relating to similar incidents in other portions of the city.

Total bond was set at $5,750.

This is the second arrest of a graffiti vandal within the last month. Jared Hernandez, DOB 12/02/1986 was arrested after surveillance video captured him tagging several downtown business with the signature "Av8R".
