Tampa, Florida - Looking at the people gathered in a Hillsborough courtroom, you couldn’t see Katie Froeschle’s face, but her presence was certainly felt as family and friends talked about the young woman who was so violently taken from them.AMY RODERICK/VICTIM’S BEST FRIEND:Her kind heart and willingness to help anyone will always be truly amazing to me. Her laughter is what I miss the most.SAM FROESCHLE/VICTIM’S YOUNGER BROTHER:She was the one who was always there for me. She could make me feel good in the worst of times. While checking out a claim at a Tampa home last November, the 25-year-old insurance adjuster was murdered. Police say Jason Funk bashed her head with a pipe and then threw her body into the Hillsborough River. On Wednesday, Funk avoided a possible death sentence and pleaded guilty to murder and several other crimes. A judge sentenced him to life in prison with no possibility of parole. The Froeschle’s were thankful for the plea deal, because it spared them the turmoil of a trial.LEO FROESCHLE/VICTIM’S MOTHER:I’m relieved. I don’t want him to be a part of our life anymore. But with no more court proceedings to focus on and to stay strong for, the Froeschle’s say the coming days will be difficult. They all seem gray, without Katie’s smile to brighten them.JEFFREY FROESCHLE/VICTIM’S FATHER:We don’t have Katie and we have to learn to go on with our lives without her./>
