COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Funeral services have been announced for a sergeant with the College Park Police Department.
Sgt. Shakeya Walker, 43, passed away on Jan. 16 from medical complications, according to a social media post from the police department.
Walker had worked with the College Park Police Department for eight years and was currently assigned to the Office of Public Safety as the Training Coordinator.
"We are grateful for the outpouring of support and kind words many of you have shared during this challenging time. In addition, we request your continued prayers for the entire law enforcement community as we collectively mourn our colleague's loss," the police department wrote in the post.
Walker's funeral service and burial details are listed below. The service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. The service is open to the public and it also can be accessed through a live stream on the funeral home’s website.
