Tampa, Florida -- A former student at Plant High School has tested positive for tuberculosis, and now school officials say about 150 students and faculty may need to be tested.
Plant High sent letters home to parents, explaining the student -- who left school before winter break -- has tested positive for the contagious disease.
One set of letters went to parents of classmates believed to have had close contact with the infected student, and suggests that their children be tested. Another set of letters went home with the majority of students, saying that they are not at risk.
Plant High will hold a meeting Tuesday night for any parents who have questions. The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the school.
