Osceola County, Florida -- A former Poinciana High School band director faces charges for allegedly having sex with two students, and authorities say there might be more victims.

Steven Velez, 25, of Kissimmee is charged with two counts of unlawful sex with certain minors.

The investigation began on Nov. 18 when deputies took a report from a 17-year old student at Poinciana High. The student said that last year, when she was 16 years old, she began receiving text messages from Velez, who at the time was the band director at the school.

She began going to his house and eventually they began a sexual relationship, the sheriff's office said. Recently, the student found out Velez also has a sexual relationship with another 17-year-old student at the school.

Detectives confirmed there was a second victim and Velez was brought in for questioning. He cooperated with the investigation, was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Velez resigned his position with the school district last week.
