BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) -- A nearly week-long search for a missing former child actor has been fruitless. Joe Pichler's car was found near a narrow waterway in Washington state last Monday. His family says the 18-year-old left a note in his car asking for his belongings to go to a younger brother. He started in commercials at age six, and then appeared in a few movies, including the third and fourth "Beethoven" comedies about a St. Bernard dog. His mother pushed Pichler to move back to the town of Bremerton in 2002. She says she wanted him "to have some normalcy in his life." But the mother tells a local paper her son "wasn't really happy about" returning from Los Angeles. Scores of volunteers joined relatives, police, water rescue officials and tracking dogs to look for the teen last week and over the weekend.
