BARTOW, Fla. – The widow a fallen football coach in the Parkland shooting visited a Polk County school safety training class on Wednesday.
Melissa Feis – whose husband, Aaron Feis, died Feb. 14 shielding students from the shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School – addressed one of the classes at the Burnham McCall Training Center.
After the shooting, Florida state legislation named the state's school safety guardian program in Aaron Feis' name.
Aaron Feis served as an assistant football coach at the high school. He graduated from the school in 1999 and worked mainly with the junior varsity, the team website said.
The team website said Aaron Feis spent his entire coaching career at Marjory Stoneman after playing there as a student.
