Seminole County deputy visits 3-year-old he rescued from a hot car

The deputy reunited with a 3-year-old girl he found unresponsive in a hot car on Sunday night. She looked healthy as she hugged her hero.

SANFORD, Fla. -- A Seminole County Sheriff's deputy turned into a hero for a 3-year-old girl who had been left in a hot car for hours on Sunday night.

Days later, deputy Bill Dunn reunited with the little girl, who hugged her hero after making a full recovery.

CBS Orlando reported that deputies were called to an apartment where the girl was found on Sunday. Her mother reported the child and her vehicle missing. Deputies found the girl in a car with the windows rolled up.

Dunn immediately pulled the girl out of the car and put her under the air conditioning vent in his vehicle before she was taken to the hospital.

Investigators reported that the mother went to the liquor store with her three children on Saturday night and returned after 11 p.m. She took two of the children inside but left the young girl in the car through the night, the sheriff's office reported.

The girl's mother was arrested and charged with child neglect.
