PALMETTO, Fla. — Property owners, listen up. More flood maps are getting updated, so this could impact you.
Homeowners in Manatee County learned more Tuesday in Palmetto about how updated maps could potentially make those who have a mortgage need flood insurance.
FEMA officials walked property owners through what the maps mean for their property. Dozens of homes in the Foxbrook neighborhood in Parrish could need flood insurance coverage even though they've never had it before.
Homeowners in Hillsborough County can learn about the new maps at these hearings:
- 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at Jan Platt Library, 3910 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa
- 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Riverview Civic Center, 11020 Park Drive, Riverview.
