LUTZ, Fla. — Two people are dead and multiple were injured following a crash Friday evening near Lutz, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. when the driver of a Honda CRV going north on U.S.-41, south of Grand Villa Drive, attempted to enter the center lane and collided with a Ford F-250.
FHP said the Ford F-250 came to a stop in the northbound lanes of U.S.-41 while the Honda rotated across the median and collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The impact of that collision caused the pickup truck to shift to the center lane and collide with a Mazda Tribute, FHP detailed.
Passengers of the Ford F-250 and Mazda were left uninjured, and the driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the Honda suffered fatal injuries.
