Tampa, Florida -- A burglar who, for some reason, stripped himself of his clothes and wallet during his heist was found less than 3 miles away naked with his loot.
On Feb. 5 around 6:56 a.m., Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies say Michael Bedell, 24, broke into the Liberty Property Trust on Benjamin Road by smashing out the front door with a rock or brick.
Once inside, Bedell looked through mail and other items inside, but no known property was removed. He then left and broke into another business, Arma, a short distance away where he stole four cell phones before fleeing the scene in a Penske van that was being leased by the business.
During the investigation, deputies discovered clothing near the incident scene which contained Bedell's driver's license.
Deputies then responded to a suspicious vehicle call at home in the 8200 Greenleaf Circle, and found Bedell naked in the driver's seat of the stolen van with the four stolen cell phones in the passenger seat.
He was arrested and charged with Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure and Grand Theft Third Degree.
