Cupcakes and party favors lined the tables of the Madeira Beach Fire Department fire station, complete with a special cake.
All for one very special birthday girl.
Not much is more captivating or inspiring than seeing a dog overcome its injuries, after all.
Clover overcame her severe burns and celebrated her first birthday as the Madeira Beach Fire Department's official fire dog.
"Clover, when she was a puppy, she was in a fire. I think a baby gate caught on fire and fell down onto her and burned her head and ears really badly, Firefighter Eric said. "She ended up at the Suncoast Animal League animal shelter. There, she was rehabilitated and they helped heal her and helped us help find her and adopt her."
She would soon become the mascot and symbol for the fire station. She also goes to schools to teach about fire safety -- she demonstrates the "stop, drop and roll" technique.
The fire station invited the community to come and snap photos with the birthday girl along with enjoying some of the cupcakes and cake.

All they asked for in exchange?
Donations for the Suncoast Animal League, which helps other dogs overcome their injuries until they can find their "furever" homes.
Karey Burek fostered Clover as she recovered and adds that she was overwhelmed with how nice and supportive that the station had been with the Suncoast Animal League.
"They're so good to Clover and they decided to pay it forward by collecting much-needed donations for our shelter animals," Burek said.
Burek has fostered many pups, including Denali, who survived a very serious house fire out of Pasco County.
