The body has been identified as 41-year-old Lydia Ann Tross.
She was reported missing at 10 a.m. on Aug. 5 from her residence at 2075 N. Highland Ave.
Clearwater Police detectives are seeking information from anyone who might have seen the victim last week around or after the time she was reported missing. Those with information in the case should call 727-562-4242.
The cause of death remains pending further investigation by the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office.

CLEARWATER, FLA. -- Clearwater Police detectives are investigating the circumstances of the death of a woman whose body was discovered late this afternoon.
Police were called after a passer-by found the body shortly after 4:30 p.m. in a grassy ditch west of the Pinellas Trail and north of Fairmont Street.
The case has been labeled a suspicious death.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office forensic team and the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office were on the scene to assist in the investigation.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death. Detectives could not ascertain the age or race of the victim due to decomposition.
Clearwater Police have identified the victim but that identity cannot be released pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the case and try to track down the next of kin.
No further information will be released until the autopsy is completed.
