Curfew issued in Citrus County Evacuation Zone A for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — Citrus County residents in Evacuation Zone A are under a curfew from 7 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office announced.

In a post on Facebook, CCSO along with the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners said the curfew is for the duration of the State of Emergency. 

Deputies stress it is important for the safety of the residents, first responders and all essential workers trying to restore services following Hurricane Helene.

This is necessary to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of the first responders and all of the essential workers attempting to restore services, as we continue to monitor, assess, and respond to the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

"Please avoid all unnecessary travel and follow all safety guidelines," CCSO wrote. "Stay indoors during curfew hours and allow emergency crews to work effectively."
