JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla — Ed Malin, the owner of Angie's Subs in Jacksonville Beach, is set to deliver hundreds of donated supplies to Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina.

North Carolina was ravaged by Helene as the storm swiped through the Southeastern United States, dropping torrential rainfall that left thousands seeking shelter.

As of Tuesday, the death count has surpassed 130 across six Southeastern states.

Malin initially reached out on social media Monday in a post that said he'd be traveling to North Carolina with four other trailers. He said the list for his trailer was a specific one: water bottles, diapers, baby formula and toilet paper.

He only had one day to take donations, Tuesday.

The Jacksonville community responded in droves to Malin's outreach. By Tuesday afternoon, piles and piles of supplies stacked in front of Angie's Subs, ready to be delivered to North Carolina.

"Yall showed OUT!" Malin wrote on Facebook. He said he'll be loaded up and driving by 5 a.m. Wednesday, headed to Asheville.

Malin said enough items were donated to make four trips.
