LARGO, Fla. -- Sections of the Largo Mall were evacuated for several hours following a report of a suspicious package around noon on Saturday.
The Tampa Police Department bomb squad was dispatched to investigate the suspicious package, which turned out to be an empty suitcase, Largo Police Department confirmed.
The suitcase was left near the Regal Largo Mall 8 movie theater, prompting the response by the TPD bomb squad.
Authorities began reopening the mall around 1:30 p.m. and reported no threat to the area.
