A Florida judge ruled a Tampa businessman can grow his own medical marijuana -- but not right away.
A judge ruled that strip club Joe Redner can produce medical pot for himself.
But the state wants to appeal that decision -- and that puts everything on hold.
Redner has lung cancer and uses marijuana for relief.
The judge's ruling only applies to Redner.
A 2016 Florida constitutional amendment approved by voters made medical marijuana legal in the state. Redner argued a ban on growing pot violates that amendment.
Currently, people with cancer, HIV/AIDS, Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis and some other conditions can use medical marijuana for relief or treatment.
However, users are not allowed to smoke marijuana and must use it in a different form.
