BRADENTON, Fla. — The School District of Manatee County released a statement Tuesday after two Southeast High School graduates died in a crash while exploring Peru.
Albert Ales and Zachary Morris died Friday in a motorbike accident, the district said. Both were 18 years old.
“The sudden loss of recent Southeast High graduates Albert Ales and Zachary Morris is a heartbreaking tragedy. Our prayers and condolences are with their families, friends, classmates and the entire Southeast High community,” district spokesperson Cynthia Saunders wrote in a tweet.
Southeast High School students and staff members wore Hawaiian and orange shirts on Tuesday to honor the two young men. One of the English teachers said the Hawaiian shirts were since the students wore floral or Hawaiian shirts every Friday.
