St. Petersburg, Florida -- The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) was hit hard last month after voters defeated a tax to expand transportation, and now the agency is making some big changes following our series of investigations.

We are now learning the agency has fired some key people, including the agency's IT Director Truieu Nguyen who was fired for no apparent reason, and Fleet Maintenance Supervisor Angelo Rebetti who PSTA said was feeding us information about PSTA.

The agency even hired a handwriting expert, with taxpayer dollars, to verify who may have been providing information to us.

The agency then fired Rebetti but had to rehire him when they found out he was the wrong guy, however, now Rebetti has been fired again.

Then another employee, Janet Recca, was fired after 10 Investigates exposed emails that revealed how the agency lied to obtain hundreds of thousands in federal grant dollars.

In one particular email, CEO Brad Miller said Janet Recca "had heartburn" over how the federal grant money was being used.

Recca has been fired since our report.

Meanwhile, since our investigation uncovering documentation of two instances of a wheel falling off a PSTA bus while on the road, another wheel almost fell off because of loose lugnuts. We are now learning that mechanics are inspecting lugnuts each morning.
