JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Following a seven-hour search, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office captured a Bradford County inmate who escaped on Friday.

Thor Bahrman, 33, stole a work van and took off from the New River Correctional Institute in Raiford, Fla. around 3 p.m., deputies said.

Members of JSO's SWAT team located Bahrman at a gas station in the area of Interstate 295 and 103rd Street around 10:11 p.m., the sheriff's office said. The stolen van was also recovered.

At the time of his escape, Bahrman was unarmed.

Bahrman left the facility undetected and didn't harm anyone, authorities said.

Bahrman was convicted of selling, manufacturing or delivering methamphetamine near a school or park in March. He was serving a two-year sentence, according to a release.

Records show Bahrman has been arrested multiple times with charges ranging from burglary to fraud.

He is originally from the St. Johns County area.
