FDOT job fairs seeking construction workers

The Florida Department of Transportation is holding two jobs fairs Tuesday and Wednesday to hire constructions workers for its contractors.

The Florida Department of Transportation is holding two jobs fairs Tuesday and Wednesday to hire constructions workers for its contractors.

Contractors are looking for general laborers, concrete finishers, flaggers, pipe fitters and pipe layers, heavy machine operators, asphalt pavers and other positions.

At both fairs FDOT and contractors' representatives will be on hand to discuss on-the-job Training, skilled worker opportunities, development of career and job skills, effective interview techniques and resumes.

First job fair: For residents of Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tampa Letter Carriers Hall, 3003 W. Cypress St., Tampa, FL 33609.

Second job fair; For residents of Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sumter, Lake Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Ridge Manor Community Center, 34240 Cortez Blvd., Dade City, FL 33523.

Anyone age 18 or older is encouraged to attend and bring their resumes.
