It’s our favorite part of the week!
Friday leads us into the weekend, but it’s also when we showcase our 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida. This week we spent time on the campus of Chasco Elementary in Pasco County. Congrats Cubs!
The Chasco Elementary community sent us a lot of nominations and a large part is due to the culture created by the administration, faculty, students and families.
One initiative contributing to that culture is Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Like many other schools, Chasco offers a school store where students can purchase items with their Cubs cash. The cash is earned when students follow the CUBS code of: Can-Do Attitude, Use Respect, Be Responsible, and Safety Always
Students can also use their cash in their classroom store where they can buy items or experiences like sitting in the teacher’s chair for the day, chewing gum in class or having a phone call home.
The school also put a family in the spotlight each week on its social media accounts.
#WhateverItTakes is the motto of the year for the school and they apply it across the board.
You can see it with the school-wide initiative for writing. With everything happening on this campus it’s easy to see why it’s our 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida.
If you have a recommendation for 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida, email us the name of the school and tell us why they should be featured to 10schools@wtsp.com. We’re looking for elementary, middle and high schools.
