Polk City, Florida -- Florida Polytechnic students are brainstorming mascot ideas.
A group of 87 students responded to the call to come up with ideas and will be formed into concept teams to work with Poly's branding and marketing partner, Fuseideas. Some ideas floating around are robots, vulcans, penguins and parrots.
The ideas will be narrowed down to three and then students will vote on March 10. The winning mascot will be unveiled on April 22.
Florida Poly will open its doors in September to becomes the state's 12th public university.
