WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — A Winter Haven man is facing third-degree felony charges after authorities say he pointed a gun at another vehicle with two people inside.

Winter Haven Police say 27-year-old Brandon Williams pulled into the parking lot of a Burger King located at 205 Cypress Gardens Blvd on Tuesday in his white Dodge Durango. A man and woman in another vehicle were pulling out of a parking spot when he arrived.

Authorities say Williams honked his horn and the driver of the other vehicle started pulling away. He then began yelling at the couple and pulled up beside them pointing a gun directly at them.

The couple contacted law enforcement after Williams left them and went to the restaurant's drive-thru lane.

The man and woman stayed on the line with dispatchers until Williams left the drive-thru and reported the direction he was traveling.

Responding officers say they found a vehicle matching the description of Williams' Durango in the area of a gas station across from the Lowes located off of Citi Centre.

According to police, a lawful traffic stop was conducted and Williams was detained without incident. They then found a firearm matching the description given by the couple in the center console of the Durango.

Williams was booked into the Polk County Jail for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
