SEFFNER, Fla. โ A Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office K-9 sniffed out a wanted suspect and found him behind a hidden door.
The deputy's K-9 unit was called to a house on North Valrico Road in Seffner at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday to help find Christopher Stringfield, according to an X post from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
There was an active felony warrant for Stringfried who violated his probation after he was convicted of driving his parents' truck through a storefront to steal two cartons of cigarettes, court records said.
Stringfield would not come out as deputies searched the house. K-9 Mick sniffed around and detected Stringfield near a wooden dresser.
When deputies pulled back the dresser, they found a small hidden door where Stringfield was hiding.
"This arrest is a testament to the effective teamwork between our deputies and K-9 unit," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the post. "No hiding spot will go undetected when our K-9s are on the case. I am proud of our entire team for bringing this criminal to justice."
Deputies arrested Stringfield and charged him with a misdemeanor for resisting officer without violence.
