DELTONA, Fla. — A pair of Florida parents are facing charges after bodycam footage appeared to show them attacking a school resource deputy.

According to a report from WFTV, Jorge Rivera and his wife Dagmarie Iturrino went to a meeting Tuesday morning at Deltona Middle School to protest a battery charge against their son for shoving a girl at school the day before.

Bodycam video posted on the agency's Facebook page shows the meeting between the parents and a school resource deputy.

"I understand the frustration of the whole situation," the deputy said in the video.

"You have no idea," Rivera responded.

The footage then shows the conversation escalate into an argument before the deputy asks the couple to leave. As Rivera and Iturrino begin to walk out, the two are seen approaching and making physical contact with the deputy.

An official report sent to WFTV says Iturrino pushed the deputy against the wall and Rivera punched the deputy in her head, knocked her to the ground and ripped her taser from her hand.

The video shared on social media shows Rivera being separated by others standing in the hallway after the deputy falls to the ground. The couple and the deputy can be heard exchanging explicit language.

"Put it down right now!" the deputy says to Rivera before he drops her taser on the floor.

Rivera is then seen being placed in handcuffs following the deputy's order to put his hands behind his back.

Both Rivera and Iturrino were reportedly charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, disruption of school function, trespassing on a school campus and other charges.

The article states that Inturrino is an employee with the Volusia County School District.

“I’m glad they’re locked up, and I look forward to them being held fully accountable for this blatant attack on our deputy who was just doing her job," Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a Facebook post.

The resource deputy was treated for concussion symptoms, WFTV explains.
