Polk County deputies Saturday night arrested a pair of Orlando teenagers wanted in connection with a fatal shooting after they crashed a stolen Dodge Charger, the sheriff's office said.
Deshawn Miller, 17, and Jayvon Joachin, 16, each with extensive criminal histories, were wanted in connection with a Wednesday shooting in Orange County of a 27-year-old woman in front of her 5-year-old child. The woman later died due to her injuries.
Miller and Joachin were also wanted in connection with a burglary of a Hillsborough County gun store on Nov. 29. Miller was in possession of a handgun stolen from the store at the time of his arrest, according to police.
The two were treated for minor injuries after the crash and released into the custody of the Polk Juvenile Assessment Center.
Joachin confessed to the shooting and to stealing the Dodge Charge from Winter Haven, police say.
Miller and Joachin will have their first court appearance Monday at 1 p.m.
