ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — A 17-year-old student was arrested Thursday morning after they allegedly posted social media threats toward Zephyrhills High School in Pasco County.
The threats reportedly occurred off campus, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office shared in an X post. Deputies added that there is no safety threat to the school and normal operations have resumed.
"PSO once again urges parents and guardians to speak with their children about the consequences of making threats and the dangers of sharing threats and rumors instead of reporting them immediately to law enforcement," the sheriff's office stated on X.
Little is known about the nature of the threats or when they were made, but the sheriff's office says there will be an increased presence of law enforcement at the school as a precautionary measure.
