TAMPA, Fla. — Deputies arrested a man for murder following a weeks-long investigation into the discovery of a body of a man in a ditch, deputies said Monday.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested Dayhan Vinet, 32, on Friday, June 14 for the death of Yalexander Felipe, 47, according to a news release.
Law enforcement responded to a call early June 4 about the body near East Chelsea Street and Racheal Falls Drive. Felipe suffered from upper-body trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release.
Vinet was identified as responsible for Felipe's death and is being charged with first-degree murder with a weapon, robbery of a firearm or weapon, dealing in stolen property and false information on a pawnbroker form, the sheriff's office said.
"I hope this arrest can help our victim's family begin their healing process," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. "As your sheriff, I can assure you that our detectives never rest until justice is served.
"The tenacity they work each case with is unrelenting and ensures that crimes of this magnitude have no place in our community."
