TAMPA, Fla. — Two arrests have been made after a shooting outside a Tampa gentlemen's club, according to a press release.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Jafet Rodriguez and 34-year-old Kenneth Jackson after deputies nearby heard multiple gunshots at 1:53 a.m. Monday coming from the Secrets Tampa Gentlemen's Club.
When they arrived, they say a white SUV was fleeing from the scene. They also located a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
According to the sheriff's office, patrol deputies tried to get the vehicle to pull over, however, the driver did not comply. The sheriff's office's Aviation Unit, Tampa Police and Florida Highway Patrol began assisting the deputies to stop the car.
After several minutes of following the vehicle, the driver reportedly approached a stop sign where authorities were able to prevent the car from fleeing again.
Jackson, the driver, began running on foot until Tampa police arrested him.
"The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will not stand for any form of violence in our community. These two individuals will be held accountable for their reckless and violent actions," said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a statement. "Our deputies and law enforcement partners showcased remarkable skill and teamwork in arresting these perpetrators. Let the message be clear: anyone who believes they can bring violence into our community will meet the full force of the law."
