Suspect in Tampa shooting charged after turning himself in

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon.

TAMPA, Fla. — A man was charged in connection to a double homicide that happened in Tampa on Saturday afternoon.

Robert Webb, 65, turned himself and the gun he used to officers on the scene after he killed two people, according to Tampa police.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of Ray Charles Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m. and found a man and woman who were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said on Monday, Webb was heard about allegations the victims were saying about him, which angered him enough to kill them. On Saturday, Webb parked in the garage of the apartment complex and waited for the two victims in the hallway of the building where they were shot.

Webb was booked into the Orient Road Jail and charged with two felony counts of murder in the first degree and one felony count of armed burglary of a structure with assault or battery.
